What are the Different Types of Airport Lounges
Airport lounges offer various facilities and services to passengers such as comfortable seating, a quiet environment, free drinks, unlimited food, private meeting rooms, etc. There are different types of airport lounges and the most common ones are:
Airline Lounges
Operated by airlines, these lounges are accessible to premium passengers traveling in first or business class flights. Passengers who enjoy the highest status of the airline frequent flier program or those with a premium credit card membership can usually access airline lounges.
Pay Per Use Lounges
As the name suggests, Pay Per Use lounge facilities are provided to travelers who pay a certain amount of fee for using the lounge. Such lounges also offer day passes as well as yearly and lifetime memberships.
First Class Airline Lounges
First class airline lounges are exclusive to international first-class passengers (the highest travel class, in general). When compared to business class lounges, first class lounges offer extra amenities and ultra-luxurious comforts. First class passengers can also use business class lounges if they want to.
Apart from the above-mentioned types of airport lounges, some airlines also provide ‘Arrival Lounges’ for passengers, where they can take a shower and relax after a long journey on international flights.
